We're Hiring: Chief Technical Officer

This role has full responsibility for the R&D function within FlowForma. The Chief Technical Officer will be a key contributor to the future technical direction of the organization’s products. The CTO will work closely with other heads of function within the company to ensure our product strategy is aligned.

The CTO will be responsible for all development and architectural standards, ensuring that FlowForma’s products are of the highest quality and that our public release practices are best of breed.  

FlowForma is a globally distributed SaaS product, hosted within the Microsoft Office 365 EcoSystem. The business is in accelerated growth phase and has built up a strong and growing customer base over the last 6 years. FlowForma is an award winning product, winning worldwide Microsoft App awards for Best User Interface and People’s Choice categories. FlowForma is recognised by Forrester Research as a Strong Performer in the Low Code for Business Developers Wave.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the design, development and deployment of FlowForma product releases based on JavaScript, .NET and SharePoint Online technologies
  • Technical accountability across the product portfolio and ensuring architectural and standard compliance
  • Provide oversight and validation of all technical/architectural design components of all development activity
  • Interaction with customers (internal & external) throughout the product & project life cycle in a CTO capacity as required
  • Comfortable presenting ‘deep dives’ into the product (both internal & external) to increase technical awareness of the product capabilities
  • Ensuring we have a robust and scalable source control solution capable of supporting on and off shore development
  • Ensuring we have a robust and scalable product support unit capable of supporting partners and clients to an appropriate standard
  • Ensuring we have appropriate and standardized operational environments for the development lifecycle [including testing/QA]
  • Definition and Management of our Architecture and Coding Standards
  • Near-shore development partner management
  • Recruitment & Selection of new technical resources
  • Provide leadership to the technical team, mentoring of developers & acting as the Senior Technical referral point for development staff
  • Planning, leading, organising, controlling and career management of our technical resources
  • Ensure that the team is up-skilled at all times and operates to the highest possible standard
  • Ensure all R&D issues are responded to and resolved through ratified Service Levels Agreements between the R&D resolver group and the Customer Success division
  • Maintain a communications strategy to keep all our technology staff up to speed on what is happening across the group
  • Help create a positive culture where team members can develop their potential and feel important as contributors to the on-going development of a growing organisation
  • Ensure that objectives are set and performance appraisals are conducted for each member of the team, ensuring that all have the appropriate skill set to achieve their objectives and are competent in their roles, aligned with the CTO’s quarterly objectives
  • Design and maintain the technical development product roadmap and assess resources against that roadmap as required
  • Be the facilitator and key contributor to incremental and step-change innovation within the organisation though FlowForma’s ID8 Innovation framework

Experience:

  • 10+ years relevant experience required
  • ASP.NET, C#,VB.NET, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript development experience essential
  • Microsoft Azure Architecture essential
  • Experience with OO design and implementation techniques
  • Service Orientated Architecture (SOA)
  • Ideally some skill in MS SQL Reporting Services
  • Web services Architecture
  • Strong people management experience and capability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

  • Degree in Computer Science or similar related qualification
  • Ideally MS Certified (SharePoint)
  • Some formal management or leadership training highly desirable

Other Information / Circumstances:

  • Flexibility in terms of business travel (around Dublin, countrywide and internationally if required)
