Padraig Canavan joins FlowForma as Chairperson

Founder and former CEO of Singularity, Padraig Canavan, has been appointed Chairperson of FlowForma, the fast-growing Business Process Enablement start-up that is already serving an international customer base.

A pioneer in Business Process Management (BPM) solutions who sold his Derry-based company for $48.1m in 2011, Padraig Canavan is a perfect fit for FlowForma.

"I see a great future for FlowForma because it puts a light-touch Business Process Enablement solution into the hands of more people in different industries. It advances a market that I was an early player in," he said.

Neil Young, FlowForma Managing Director, commented, "We are delighted to bring Padraig's knowledge of this sector into the company at an exciting time in our development. His sector-specific experience and entrepreneurial flair will be invaluable as we look to our next phase of expansion."

The company has increased its staff to 40 employees and just moved into bigger premises in Dublin's East Point Business Park. The firm is planning further growth by expanding an international partner network from 10 to 30 in the next 12 months, covering Denmark, Poland, Ireland and the UK. Customers include Aon, Primark, United Drug and the NHS.

FlowForma sits on the Microsoft SharePoint platform and allows business analysts and consultants to build out their own processes rather than rely on software developers. This is the big differentiator over other competing solutions, according to Padraig Canavan.

"FlowForma is quick to implement and simple to use, enabling process automation in areas of a business where traditional tools would have been too complex and overbearing," he said. "Cloud-based with self-service configuration, FlowForma leverages all the latest technologies to open Business Process Enablement up to more people in a way that was unimaginable a decade ago".
