Top 3 Predictions for No Code Digital Process Automation in 2019

Happy New Year everyone!

The festive season has come and gone and it's time to get back into our normal daily routines.

As we enter the first full week of January and desperately attempt to shake off all those Christmas dinners, I've taken a look at what I feel we can expect to see in 2019, for No Code Digital Process Automation (DPA) technology platforms.

From how I see it there are three areas where we will see change, these are:

1) Widespread Uptake Within the Enterprise

We’ve seen many Enterprise organizations in the last 12 months adopt no code digital process automation technologies with real vigor. We expect this to double in uptake this year as the technologies mature and more value is realized within the Enterprise.

Replacing legacy technologies (such as Lotus Notes) will only re-enforce this strategy. With Enterprise customers comes increasing demands around areas such as Governance and Cross-Functional Work Collaboration portals, it's all there and ready for you to trial if you wish!

2) Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Becomes a Feature

There's been a considerable amount of noise around RPA over the last few years and for good reason – it is seeing phenomenal growth and adoption.

As the technology matures and digital process automation vendor’s dig into it deeper, there’s a realization that DPA vendors can achieve a level of this through their own stacks – not to the same level as the core RPA vendors mind you, but enough to satisfy the key areas. Some, of course, will ‘white-label’ an RPA vendor into their stacks. Either way, this will be presented to the end customer as an integrated feature which is no bad thing. This will put an end to all those painful, repetitive daily tasks!

3) Prioritizing ‘Outside-In’ Processes

These external focused processes are now becoming the entry-point for our customers to the no-code technology stack, as opposed to a project they approach once they’ve built a few internal processes first. Simple reason - it connects directly to enhancing customer experiences. We’ll be enhancing this area of our technology stack in the very near future to make this even more accessible (while ensuring all the security tick boxes are checked, of course).
